About Us

It is our goal to make your dog feel at home…while away from home. After all, they are family! At barKadelphia, it’s a dogs world. Fido and FURiends will enjoy our cage free, supervised environment. Our daycare is set up to safely accommodate dogs of all sizes, ages and breeds. Our facility includes two dog runs, The Pawlor Room and The Wreck Room which allows for dogs to be separated by temperament, not necessarily by size. So, if relaxing is your pups thing, rest assured, our humans laps are available for the taking. If woofing around and catch-me-if-you-can sounds more like your pup, we’ve got it covered!

While our foundation is based on fun and safe socialization, it’s our goal to help your pup succeed during, as well and outside of daycare, which is why we incorporate daily activities to stimulate the mind and reinforce/strengthen training and obedience. It’s just like school, with a side of PAWsome (and slobber)! Did we mention that our humans speak dog? Not only is the barKadelphia crew fluent in dog, they’ve also been trained in Canine First Aid and CPR ensuring your pups safety.

We offer options to accommodate every dog owners needs and budget. During the week, your pup can join us for a half-day (up to 6 hours) or a full day of fun (6 hours or more) on a pay as you go basis or you can choose to take advantage of one of our discounted packages. barKadelphia is conveniently located at 614 S. 3rd Street (between Bainbridge and South) just East of Center City and Philly’s Central Business district. We are open Monday-Friday 7:30am – 7:00pm (early drop off available beginning at 7am) and on Saturday from 10:00am – 6:00pm. barKadelphia’s store (open during daycare hours), features a variety of natural, holistic and healthy dog foods, treats, and other products made in the USA. Brands carried includes; Zukes, Merrick, Nutrisource, Orijen, Barkworthies and more.

Our story started in December of 2012. barKadelphia was conceived by dog lovers, for dog lovers. Owners and operators Jackie & John who reside in Philly, have been dog owners and dog lovers their whole lives. The inspiration behind barKadelphia (and the best product testers on the East Coast) are their FUR-kids Murphy, a Rhodesian Ridgeback and Marley, a Maltipoo. Their former business experience and passion for pups, made opening Barkadelphia an easy decision. Alongside barKadelphia’s owners, the “barKa crew” is led by our one and only manager, Jamie! Jamie joined barKadelphia in July 2013 and has been a vital asset to the pack since. Jamie’s commitment to barKadelphia and genuine love for the pups makes her the perfect addition to our PAWsome team!
